Your ABA Team Members
Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA)
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a professional that has achieved a Master's degree in a related field of applied behavior analysis, special education or psychology. They have completed 1500 hours of practicum experience, as well as passed a board exam and obtained a state licensure. Your child will be assigned BCBA at the start of therapy that will oversee treatment, create appropriate goals and assist family members and outside team members to assure therapy is effective outside of the clinic.
Behavior Technician/Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
A behavior technician, or registered behavior technician (RBT) is the professional providing direct therapy to your child. They have completed a minimum of 40 hours of training under a BCBA and may be either working towards or has already obtained their registration as a professional technician. Your child may experience a variety of behavior technicians throughout therapy to assist with generalizing skills across different people.
Practicum Students
Practicum students are behavior technicians that are in the process of becoming a BCBA. They may be in stages of graduate school or gaining their practicum hours while working in the clinic.
Milestones Autism Center offers a free practicum experience to those seeking guidance from ethical and knowledgable BCBA's. To get more information, please send us an email or visit us at the clinic for a tour.
